Episode 193: Making Friends in Patagonia with Natalia, Tisca, Leilan & Scott

You just gotta go out and do it, and you will never regret going out and just doing something.
— Leilan Wurtzbacher

This week, I’m sharing an unforgettable daddy-daughter adventure to Patagonia with my daughter, Leilan. We traveled to Torres del Paine National Park in Chile to hike the famous W Trek, expecting breathtaking scenery, fierce weather, and a real physical challenge. We found all of that—but we also discovered that some of the most meaningful parts of the journey had nothing to do with the miles we covered.

Along the way, we met fellow hikers Tisca Chandaria from London and Natalia Poskrebysheva from Amsterdam. What began as chance encounters on the trail quickly turned into genuine friendship as we shared meals, stories, laughter, and the ups and downs of life in Patagonia. In a place where everyone is pushed by the wind, the distance, and the unpredictability of each day, strangers can become friends faster than you’d expect.

In this episode, we reflect on the beauty and difficulty of Patagonia, the lessons that come from doing hard things, and the way adventure has a surprising way of bringing people together. Join us for a conversation about resilience, connection, and the kind of friendships that can only be formed when you step out of your routine and into the unknown.
